Digital marketing for London businesses, from just over the border in Essex.
We’re based in Essex, not London, and we won’t pretend otherwise. We’ve worked with businesses from Hammersmith to Harold Wood, we run social media for one in Stratford now, and when it helps to meet, David comes to you.

DC Digital is a digital marketing business based in Essex and working across the UK, the capital included. For businesses here we build websites and run SEO, Google Ads, social media and paid social, plus SendIQ outbound campaigns that approach the companies most likely to buy. We have no office in the city, and none to visit in Essex either: when you’d like to meet, we set a date and David comes to you.
Two cities in one set of figures
In March 2026 there were 552,505 VAT or PAYE registered businesses in London, more than one in five of England’s. As across England, nine in ten employ fewer than 10 people. What changes the advice is where they sit, because the centre and the outer east are different markets.
| Area | Businesses | In construction | Professional, scientific and technical |
|---|---|---|---|
| City of London | 24,420 | 3.2% | 33.5% |
| Camden | 38,445 | 5.2% | 28.3% |
| Islington | 24,315 | 6.3% | 23.6% |
| Hammersmith and Fulham | 12,325 | 6.8% | 22.9% |
| Newham | 14,120 | 15.7% | 12.5% |
| Havering | 11,035 | 27.6% | 11.2% |
| All of the capital | 552,505 | 11.4% | 20.0% |
| Essex (county council area) | 68,455 | 21.8% | 14.0% |
| England | 2,423,150 | 14.1% | 15.9% |
In the centre, people are buying expertise. In Camden and the City, around three in ten businesses are professional firms: accountants, consultants, architects, specialist advisers. For a firm selling expertise, we’d start with the website and the proof on it. See marketing for professional firms.
In the outer east, it’s builders. Havering has the highest share of construction businesses of London’s 32 boroughs and the City, at 27.6%, higher than Essex’s 21.8%. Barking and Dagenham (24.6%) and Bexley (24.5%) are close behind. For a builder or trade firm, we’d start with local search and real photos and video from your jobs. See marketing for construction firms.
Source: ONS UK Business Counts (enterprises), March 2026, via Nomis, read 14/10/2026. ONS rounds each count to the nearest 5, and counts a business once, generally where its main site or head office is, which can push the central figures up.
Being found where everyone is competing
There are 6,060 advertising agencies registered in the capital, about a third of all those in England, against 430 in Essex. When we checked a search for “digital marketing agency london” on 14 October 2026, the first things on the page were three directory links, then three firms in the map results, each with an 020 number and between 45 and 320 reviews. Six of the ten normal results were lists of agencies.
Searches are bigger here, and the clicks usually cost more:
| Search | With “london”, a month | With “essex”, a month | Top-of-page bid, london against essex |
|---|---|---|---|
| plumber | 5,400 | 590 | 3.4 times |
| electrician | 2,900 | 320 | 3.6 times |
| accountants | 3,600 | 480 | 0.9 times |
| scaffolding | 1,300 | 320 | 2.2 times |
| builders | 720 | 210 | 2.0 times |
Usually, but not always: for accountants the top bid is slightly lower than for the Essex search. Our reading is simple. Don’t buy “London” as one place. Pick the boroughs you actually work in, and judge every campaign on what an enquiry costs.

Search figures are DataForSEO tool estimates for the UK, average September 2025 to August 2026, read 14/10/2026; they count UK searches for each exact phrase, wherever the searcher is. Bids are the upper top-of-page estimate, compared as multiples.
The services, and what changes here
Finding customers
SendIQ outbound
When the buyers you want are other businesses, waiting to be found is slow in a market this size. SendIQ researches the companies most likely to buy and approaches the people who decide. Seeder Heights in Harold Wood is a SendIQ client, we’ve run outbound campaigns for Epworth Investment Management in Bloomsbury, and we ran one for TotalSafe, a fire safety firm in Corringham, aimed at property and block management companies across the city.
Attracting customers
SEO
Showing up when people search for what you do. In a city this size we aim at the searches your customers really type, including the borough and the job, and set up your Google Business Profile properly. We’ll never use a made-up address to get you into the map results. For Seeder Heights we worked on SEO and the technical speed of their website.
Google Ads
PPC set to the boroughs you serve rather than the whole city, and judged on what each enquiry costs rather than on clicks. We’ve run Google Ads for Epworth Investment Management.
Social media and paid social
Posts made from your own work, which we photograph and film ourselves, drone footage included, and paid social when your followers alone won’t reach the buyers you want. We’ve done both here, from KRK Projects in Stratford to Skybar in Eltham.
Converting customers
Website design
A site that answers what your buyers ask before they pick up the phone, built in WordPress from £999 plus VAT, one off.
Clients here, and a campaign aimed here
We don’t have a written case study from here yet, so here is what we did, in plain words.
| Client | Area | What we did |
|---|---|---|
| AGA Scaffold | Hammersmith | Drone video and photography, edited by us and published on their social media. |
| Ambico | Farringdon | Social media management. |
| Epworth Investment Management | Bloomsbury | Google Ads, social media management and content including graphic design, and outbound campaigns to find new business. |
| KRK Projects | Stratford | Social media management, plus video, drone footage and photography as they need it. A current client. |
| Skybar | Eltham | Social media and content creation, paid growth campaigns and Meta advertising. |
| Seeder Heights | Harold Wood | SendIQ outbound, plus SEO and technical speed improvements on their website. |
| TotalSafe | Corringham, Thurrock, Essex | A SendIQ outbound campaign aimed at property and block management companies across the city. |
No figures here, because we only publish results we’ve checked, and none of these have been written up yet. For written-up case studies, see our work page; for clients nearer our base, see Essex.
Closer than it sounds
Havering, where Seeder Heights is, borders Essex to the north and east. The Elizabeth line runs from Shenfield and Brentwood in Essex through Harold Wood and Stratford to Farringdon and Tottenham Court Road, and c2c runs from south Essex into Fenchurch Street. Three of the areas on our client map are stops on that one line. None of that makes us a local firm here, and we won’t say it does. It’s why we’re happy to come to you.

What people here ask us
No. We’re based in Essex and don’t have an office open to visitors anywhere. If you’d like to meet, we set a date and David comes to you. The address in our footer is our registered office: a legal address for Companies House, not somewhere to call in.
No. Our clients here run from Hammersmith in the west to Harold Wood in the east, with Farringdon, Bloomsbury, Stratford and Eltham in between. The outer east is the part nearest Essex, and its business mix, heavy on construction, looks a lot like Essex, where most of our clients are.
Usually, though not always. In our October 2026 check, the top-of-page bid for four of five trade searches was between 2 and 3.6 times the same search with “essex”, and for accountants it was slightly lower. That’s why we target the boroughs you serve rather than the whole city, and judge campaigns on cost per enquiry.
You don’t have to, and there are over 6,000 advertising agencies registered here to choose from. What we offer is one point of contact (you deal with David), published prices, and SendIQ outbound alongside the usual services. What we won’t offer is a London address: Google says local results depend mainly on relevance, distance and prominence, so your own Google Business Profile and reviews matter far more than where your marketing firm sits.
