Mr Gates and MG Group: a new website, and a clear view of who could buy.

Mr Gates works across gates, barriers and architectural metalwork, and MG Group is the same business’s second brand. We researched, wrote and built mrgates.co.uk, refined the MG Group brand and worked out who could buy from MG Group.

Inside the work / The decisions

A specialist business, made easier to explore.

We researched, wrote and built the Mr Gates website. For its sister brand MG Group, we refined the identity and worked out who could buy or specify its work.

  1. Start with the services

Dedicated pages explain the gates, barriers and metalwork the business provides.

  2. Write for the buyer

The website copy answers the questions different customers bring to each service.

  3. Plan the next conversation

For MG Group, the audience research separates buyers from the people who specify, influence and refer work.

MG Group's own website was designed by another agency; our work for MG Group was the brand and the audience.

Mr Gates and MG Group are one business with two brands, working across gates, barriers and architectural metalwork. We researched, wrote and built the Mr Gates website at mrgates.co.uk, which launched in September 2026. For MG Group, we refined the brand and worked out who could buy or specify its work: direct customers, specifiers, influencers and referral partners.

01 / The challenge

Several specialist strands, and a website and brand that needed to show all of them.

The business works across architectural and structural metalwork, automated gates, barriers, balustrades, security systems, fabrication and servicing. The challenge was to communicate that breadth and quality clearly, give the brand a cleaner and more consistent look, and find a structured way to reach larger commercial customers and the people who specify their work.

02 / What we did

One website, one brand, and a clear picture of who to approach.

Research and plan the website

What customers search for, what they need to know before they get in touch, and which pages that called for.

Write and build mrgates.co.uk

Copy written for each service and each kind of customer, and the site built on WordPress.

Work out who could buy from MG Group

We separated direct customers, specifiers, influencers and referral partners (from main contractors, developers and housing associations to architects, quantity surveyors and facilities managers) and set out how to find the companies in each group.

Refine the brand

A cleaner logo and a more consistent visual direction for MG Group’s future marketing.

03 / The result

A live website, and a working plan for who to approach next.
